Faiveley 2019 Les Damodes Nuits St Georges 1er Cru

This vineyard sits between Roncière and Cailles, south of the town. An early purchase in the 1930s, Faively has 1.69 hectares here, parcels planted in ’45, ’54, 2005 and ’11 on deepish gravel. The nose is very bright, almost of cassis, with an earthy, wet stone note. There’s cassis on the palate, with firm tannins, bounce and crunch. Drink 2025-2040.
