Monteraponi 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva

The Monteraponi 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Campitello is an organic expression that shows some of the richness and the extra weight of this drought-prone vintage that resulted in darker more compact berries. The bouquet is framed by thick blackberry dried plum and prune. There is a point of dryness on the finish that underlines the tannins and the fruit ripeness. This wine reflects the ups and downs of the vintage and I am suggesting a shorter drinking window as a result.
